A WSBT reporter on the scene says there were 12 students on the bus headed to Adams High School. Around 7:20 the moped driver was turning off of Camden onto Sample headed west when police say the slick roads caused him to lose control and swerve into the path of the eastbound bus.

The bus driver tried to swerve to avoid the man, but clipped him with the front passenger side. The man, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Another bus came to pick up the students and take them to school where counselors will be available for them.

Sample was closed from Camden to Kentucky streets for a while as police diagrammed the scene. It is now back open.
