A 9-year-old LaGrange County girl’s condition is now listed as “good” at Riley Hospital for Children-IU Health, where she's being treated for injuries from a June 8 car crash near Middlebury.

Alia Villalobos was in critical condition when she was transferred to Riley from Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was airlifted to Memorial after she and four others were injured in a two-car crash on June 8 at S.R. 15/U.S. 20.

Elkhart County police say the driver of their car, 28-year-old Laura Ryan of LaGrange, was taken to Goshen General Hospital along with 2-year-old Darwin Villalobos, 7-year-old George Ryan and 9-year-old Kitana Ryan. They all were treated and released by the next day after the crash.

All the children and the driver were buckled up. So was 30-year-old Jacob Mitchell of Mishawaka, who was driving the other car and was not hurt.
