Joe Donnelly promises tax cuts for small businesses if elected

The current U.S. representative said he believes it's important to put Indiana small businesses before partisan politics.

Indianapolis

Jobs will be on the minds of many voters this fall and Democratic candidate for Senate Joe Donnelly claims the best way to do create more jobs is by cutting taxes for small businesses.

He toured RJE Business interiors downtown Tuesday to talk about his job plan if he's elected.

The current U.S. representative said he believes it's important to put Indiana small businesses before partisan politics.

"That's what America wants. They don’t' want Democrats fighting with Republicans. They want us to stand up as Americans,” said Donnelly.

Donnelly is squaring off with Republican Richard Mourdock for Senator Richard Lugar's old Senate seat. Mourdock defeated Lugar in the GOP primary last month.

Mourdock's campaign issued the following response:

“It is ironic that Joe Donnelly is talking about creating an environment for small businesses to create jobs since he voted for Obamacare, which is the biggest small business job-killer of them all.  Richard Mourdock will stand with small businesses and repeal Obamacare."
