For the second year in a row, a local woman has been named the cover girl of one of the most famous magazine issues in the world.
Model Kate Upton will grace the cover of the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The photo was leaked to the public over the internet Friday.
Upton was born in St. Joseph, Michigan and lived there until she was 6 years old.
Sports Illustrated did the the photo shoot in Antarctica.
Upton is the niece of Congressman Fred Upton. And her father is Niles High School athletic director Jeff Upton.
The official announcement of the cover girl will be made Monday in New York.
