SOUTH BEND -- A 48-year-old South Bend man used his bicycle to thwart a robbery attempt over the weekend by a 13-year-old boy with a stun gun.
The victim told police he was approached by the boy and a 13-year-old girl outside a home in the 500 block of East Victoria Street about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The suspects at first asked if the man wanted to sell his bike, in which the victim replied "no," according to a police report. The male suspect then pointed the stun gun at him and sparked it, but was unable to make contact as the man used his bike to defend the attack, police said. He also yelled for help, and the suspects left the scene.
The suspects were later arrested, and the stun gun was found.
