NOTRE DAME -- They shaved their heads to conquer childhood cancer.

On Wednesday, a three-day fundraiser kicked off at Notre Dame to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation, the Pantene For Beautiful Lengths Program and Memorial Hospital.

The money raised from this event goes toward finding a cure for pediatric cancer and making real-hair wigs for cancer patients

About 30 Notre Dame Football players went bald on Wednesday -- some even got hair extensions.

For some their personal connection to cancer called them to sit down for the big shave, but for the other 100 people that shaved their locks on Wednesday, it's just a sign to other cancer patients that they care.

More than 160,000 children in the world are diagnosed with cancer each year.

See in this video how Notre Dame Students and football players are doing their part to help this cause.
