MISHAWAKA – A small group of protestors picketed along busy Lincolnway in Mishawaka Saturday to call attention to their fears about the future of their housing.
The demonstrators were outside of River View 500, crying foul against the Mishawaka Housing Authority.
They have concerns about plans the "Authority" has to offer assisted living there and the potential restrictions that might put on all residents.
A meeting was held with residents in June to try and address their concerns.
More than a year ago, millions of dollars in renovations occurred to get the licensing required to offer assisted living. Right now, the site has a provisional license. A full license is still pending.
