MISHAWAKA -- The Mishawaka Common Council voted 8-0 Monday to approve
the annexation of 250 acres northeast of Fir and Douglas roads.

That area, bissected by Juday Creek and close to the Juday Creek Golf
Course, is farmland that owners Larry and Becky Penn want to sell to
developers to build homes or businesses.

The Penns have said it would take several years to sell off the land.
None of the property has been sold yet, their real estate agent said
Monday.

Council member Marsha McClure, R-4th, was absent from the meeting.
