Winter has quickly turned to spring-like weather.
In fact, South Bend hit a record highs on two fronts on Tuesday. The mercury soared to 58, tying the record set 99 years ago in 1914.
South Bend also set an all-time high for rain on January 29.
GET THIS -- The old record was 0.65 inches of rainfall set in 1909. On Tuesday, 1.5 inches fell, a value that may increase throughout the evening.
Flooding is becoming a concern in areas with all the rain that’s falling plus the melting snow.
A Flood Watch is in effect until 10 a.m. on Wednesday
Some heavy hail was mixed in with parts of Michiana hit with severe thunderstorms early Tuesday morning.
With all the snow melting and rain we’ve seen this week a lot of people along creeks and rivers are worried about flooding.
WSBT’s Matt Rudkin was out Tuesday talking to people in those low-lying areas. Many of them are doing what they can to prevent problems.
