Officials have not yet released the name of the man burned when he tried to flee the fire at a barn on 500 North, just west of 600 West, near Leiter’s Ford Thursday afternoon.
Aubbeenaubbee Township Fire Chief Mike Temme told WSBT the man was initially taken to a hospital via Fulton County EMS ambulance, but was later airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment of his burns.
Temme said what caused the intense fire is being investigated by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office.
Numerous people sent WSBT pictures of the fire. Massive smoke plumes could be seen north of Plymouth.
