There is new fallout in the federal wiretapping investigation at the South Bend Police Department.
The city confirms fired communications director Karen DePaepe is asking for a settlement.
The city's attorney will not give us a copy of the letter DePaepe's attorney recently sent and won't disclose how much money DePaepe is asking for.
"Any settlement request is a matter of attorney-client privilege by the state and court rules," said City Attorney Aladean DeRose. "Anything protected by court rule can't be produced."
DePaepe has not filed a lawsuit against the city.
