A jury has found an Elkhart man guilty of obstructing justice following the death of a local high school student.

Scott Defebaugh faces sentencing next month, were he could get up to three years in prison.

Police say Defebaugh found the body of 16-year-old Alan Hess off State Road 120 in Elkhart County in March of last year.

Officers say Defebaugh told them he didn't know what had happened. But investigators say after Yvonne Addington struck and killed Hess, she called Defebaugh to tell him she hit something.

Addington has already pleaded guilty to hit-and-run charges and is in prison.
