Again this week, a semi apparently struck the signal box at the Cassopolis/Bristol streets intersection early Thursday morning.
As a result of the signal box being struck, traffic signals are not working.
Elkhart Police are directing traffic and are waiting for an Indiana Department of Transportation crew to arrive, according to a police dispatcher.
The busy intersection was a 4-way stop for much of the day on May 22 after a semi took out the control box for the traffic lights. That incident was the third time in six weeks the signal box had been struck.
INDOT officials say they are working on moving the control box to avoid future problems.
