SOUTH BEND – Firefighters battled an early morning house fire in South Bend.
The call came in just before 4:00 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of South Phillipa. That's not far from the intersection of Olive and Western.
When firefighters arrived, they saw flames coming from the second story where the fire was believed to have started.
No one was inside at the time. Firefighters tell us the homeowner recently moved, but the house was under renovation.
No one was injured.
