James Stewart faces charges in the 1999 murder of Christopher Pierre in St. Joseph County.
Pierre was found shot to death at the corner of Fremont and Humbolt. Court documents show a witness told police he saw Stewart shoot Pierre.Stewart was charged with the murder in 2000, but that witness later refused to testify so the charges were dropped.
Police say that witness is now willing to testify.
Two other people say Stewart admitted to them while in jail he killed Pierre.
