Shortly after midnight, based on information received by the Paw Paw Police Department the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department investigated a minor-in-possession-of-alcohol party in the 54000 block of County Road 360 in Hamilton Township. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found multiple vehicles at the location and multiple individuals fleeing.
Most of those who fled were tracked down during an investigation of the scene and several others were located passed out in the woods and residence due to consumption of alcohol.
A 24-year-old man was arrested for resisting and obstructing.
A 20-year-old male was arrested or cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption and for allowing minors in possession of alcoho/drugs on the premises.
Eight males aged from 17 to 20 were arrested or cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.
Six females aged from 17 to 20 were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.
Two of the suspects are on probation for prior minor-in-possession charges and reports are being sent to their probation officers.
A warrant for allowing minors in possession in possession of alcoho/drugs on the premises also is being sought for an additional 17-year-old male who fled the scene.
A 15-year-old girl also was removed from the scene and turned over to her legal guardian.
Multiple patrol vehicles were required to transport the suspects to the Van Buren County Jail.
The investigation has been turned over to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office for charges to be filed.
The incident remains under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department.
