  19. John William "Bill" Mostoller, 75, of Friedens

    John William “Bill” Mostoller, 75, of Friedens, passed on March 24, 2013 at The In Touch Hospice House.  Born July 2, 1937 in Somerset, he is the son of the late Charles R. and Beatrice (Blough) Mostoller. Bill is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beverly (Sheeler) Mostoller; children: Valorie Mostoller and Jay Kennedy of Somerset; John W. Mostoller Jr. and wife Ruth of Somerset; Geoffrey Mostoller of Heath, Ohio; and Randy Mostoller and wife Lori of Somerset; grandchildren: William John Mostoller and wife Michelle, and Kyle and Courtney Mostoller; great-granddaughter Josephina Mostoller; brother Charles Robert Mostoller and wife Janet of Bellefonte; nieces Robin Niosi and Becky Hendrickx; and nephew Scott Mostoller. Bill was a retired pilot for Wheeler Bros. in Somerset. He had a lifelong love of flying he learned from his father, who was a military cargo pilot lost in action over Burma in W.W.II. Bill was the owner and operator of Somerset Airways. He was a former manager of the Somerset County Airport with many years of service. He was a member of Lodge #358 of the F&AM in Somerset and the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona. He donated much of his time and his aircraft to fly burn victims to the Shriner’s Burn Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bill was also a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by his dog Cocoa. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Somerset County Humane Society at P.O. Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501; Friedens Lutheran Church at 131 Main St., Friedens, PA 15541; or The Shriner’s Burn Center at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org .     Susan Jill Harnden, 69, of Somerset, died March 22, 2013 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born June 10, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kan., the daughter of David Bruce “D.B.” Marshall and Inez Marie (Good) Marshall. Preceded in death by parents, and son Douglas A. Harnden. Survived by husband Dennis Don Harnden to whom she was married 49 years; children: Amy Jenkins and husband Kurtis of Chambersburg; Elizabeth A. Harnden of Somerset; daughter-in-law Jennifer Tia Harnden of Somerset; grandchildren: Cole, Michael, Zane and Alex; great-grandson Oliver; brothers: Roger Marshall and wife Patty of Wichita, Kan.; Stephen Marshall and wife Cecelia of Grand Lake, Okla. Susan attended Grace United Methodist Church. She was involved many years with the Girl Scouts, little league baseball, was an avid bowler and she was in various bowling leagues. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Eric Raygor officiating.
