  6. Speed Limits Restored, Vehicle Restrictions Lifted in Eastern, South Central Pennsylvania

    At 9 a.m., PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) lifted the speed-limit and vehicle restrictions that were in place on roadways in eastern and south central Pa., including the Delaware River Bridge and Fort Washington Interchange.              A change of leadership coming up at the  Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.  Chief Executive Officer Roger E. Nutt announced Tuesday that he will be stepping down effective on October 31, 2012.  Nutt had been CEO of the Turnpike Commission since March 2011. His salary was $196,700 a year.

  12. PA Turnpike to Issue New Ticket Style

    Cash paying travelers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be issued a new style ticket beginning Wednesday, Septermber 26, 2012. The new tickets, sporting a different look and feel, will be about 1.75 inches longer and printed on white thermal paper. They replace the familiar beige tickets that have been in use the past 25 years. The tickets,  proof of entry point and vehicle classification are surrendered at exit and determine the applicable toll for cash paying motorists.
