5. Memorial Day restoration should forsake three-day weekends

The primary purpose of Memorial Day is no longer to honor Americans killed in battle while serving their country. It's to cater to clucks who want a three-day weekend to better facilitate fun.

11. Feds sue to stop text message gift card scam

Some of my columns spark more outrage than others and, to my surprise, a brief report several years ago about random text messages supposedly awarding $1,000 Best Buy gift cards continues to rank near the top. More than 150 people from all over the...

13. A loss for the Lehigh football program

Groller's Corner
For 12 seasons I have covered Lehigh football and for 12 seasons I have trudged up the long, never-ending rows of steps to the Goodman Stadium press box, totally out-of-breath by the time I arrived. And usually one of the first faces I saw inside the...

23. Signs would signal new traffic light ahead on Route 100

Q: I was wondering if there were plans to post signs or some type of signal cautioning drivers of the new traffic signal ahead on Route 100 south when approaching the Kernsville/Claussville roads intersection. The signal was in 'flash' mode for a while, but switched to the normal stop/go function Nov. 29. A temporary sign on 100 south alerts drivers of the new traffic pattern ahead, but I still was surprised when I came upon the fully operational signal. Many drivers pass when going up the hill, cutting off others in the course of merging back into one lane before the intersection. Adding stopped traffic to that area when the light is red will definitely make for an interesting commute.
