  9. A Week After Hurricane Sandy Looting in Staten Island Continues

The storm inflicted a lot of pain on people living in Staten Island.   In the area of Ebbitts Street you can see the devastation everywhere.  Residents belongings line the streets but now there is a problem that is really sickening. Folks reeling from the effects of Sandy are faced with having their property stolen if they don't stand guard over it. Thieves who live in the area are going from house to house ripping off their neighbors. It happened to Nick Camerada who says thieves came to his house acting like they were trying to help find survivors. He  told CNN "They were banging on doors. "Anybody home? If you're not home if, if we don't get a response from you we're gonna break your door down just to see if you are OK."  Camerada went on to say "They were all looters.  I yelled out my window on a few occasions till I was exhausted"  Camerada says the next morning he checked his outside tool shed only to find everything  of value had been stolen and he thinks it was guys in the neighborhood who wiped him out.
