  23. Jazz Up July in Stamford features some of the biggest names in jazz

    Yet another free concert series begins this week, again at Stamford's Columbus Park. Jazz Up July has once again attracted some huge names in jazz, the first of which is guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli, who you may remember from those old &quot;Wonder of It All" Foxwoods commercials, the son of local jazz great Bucky Pizzarelli. His newest album <em>Double Exposure</em> takes pop songs of his own generation ("Harvest Moon", "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Alison") and places them into traditional jazz arrangements, and the show is a freebie.
