5. New show spurs the idea: Who's on your high school's Mount Rushmore?

Groller's Corner
There's lots of NFL programming out there. There are NFL shows on constantly, usually studio shows breaking down a team's depth on the offensive line or who's playing quarterback, etc. But this one caught my eye. Pro Football Talk, NBC Sports Network&#...

9. From the same cloth: Harbaugh and Spagnuolo share special bond

It's hard to find a quiet moment when you're a head coach in the NFL.
It's hard to find a quiet moment when you're a head coach in the NFL. Your time, especially during the season, feels scripted, almost down to the minute. There are meetings and phone calls to conduct, practices and drills to oversee, video to analyze and...

11. Eagles Press Conference, January 10th

"Okay, we'll talk about yesterday to start with here. I mentioned that there were some good things and there were some things we need to work on. Obviously the third down situation on both sides of the ball was a huge factor and we have to do a better job of getting off the field and staying on the field from an offensive standpoint. And special teams were a factor. We left some plays out on the field on all three phases. Not one person in particular, but when you add up the penalties and the efficiency on third down and you're playing a playoff game against a good football team, you obviously can't do that. Overall with the season, I thought there were some real positives we can take out of it. We were able to play some young players that I think were able to get valuable experience that will help us. Not only help their careers down the road, but also help us as a football team. We've seen some great leadership out of some of the young players. We came from a position that most people didn't think we'd be able to do at the beginning of the year and that was to make it to the playoffs and to win the NFC East. My hat goes off to the effort of the coaches and the players. We were all greedy at the end, which you have to be, and we wanted to advance and we just didn't play well enough there to do that. We gave ourselves a chance right down to the last play of it. We weren't able to finish it off. The offseason is important. It's important for the coaches and it's important for the players. The obvious, we know we need to get better in the red zone on both sides of the football. We know we need to do better on third down on both sides of the football and we need to eliminate the penalties that we've had over the last few years. People were disciplined in that area. As coaches and as players, as coaches we'll go back and we'll dissect everything starting with ourselves and then our schemes and then personnel. I expect the players to do the same. I expect them to go back and be real with themselves and be critical; be critical of themselves. We work on their weaknesses and turn those into strengths just like I'm asking the coaches and I'm asking myself to do the same thing." (-These were the opening remarks)

13. For now, winning is all that matters to Eagles

— An unscientific poll of Philadelphia Eagles following Sunday night's 19-17 victory over the New York Giants reveals most of the players are not spending a whole lot of time thinking about why they've won all the close ones so far.

15. Eagles barely hanging on; way too many flaws to contend

— Don't be fooled, Eagles fans. This is still a bad football team, one not capable of making it to the playoffs even if it gets all the mathematical help it needs from the Cowboys, Giants, Falcons, Bears or anyone else still in contention in the NFC.

17. Peyton Manning as an Eagle worth the risk

Acquiring Peyton Manning, assuming he's healthy enough to play quarterback this season, obviously would not guarantee the Philadelphia Eagles a Super Bowl.

21. Eagles must walk the fine line, not cross it

— Interpretations are necessary for all NFL preseason games, in which final scores mean little, partial scores mean a lot and players are evaluated as much by how far they can push themselves emotionally as well as physically without cracking.

23. Scouting report: Ravens at Eagles

RAVENS PASSING GAME: What will quarterback Joe Flacco do for an encore? A week after lighting up the Cincinnati Bengals in one of the best performances of his career, Flacco brings the Ravens' suddenly explosive offense to Lincoln Financial Field, a short drive from where he grew up. Eight players caught passes in the Ravens' opener, led by tight end Dennis Pitta. Flacco figures to get far less time to operate against a fast and aggressive Eagles defense.
