1. Did the Ravens confuse Tom Brady with a new look?

In his 13 years in the NFL, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has seen just about everything that a crazed, caffeine-infused defensive coordinator could possibly scribble on a whiteboard in the wee hours of the morning. But the Ravens tried their best to give him something different to think about on Sunday night.

  3. Haloti Ngata filling in Terrell Suggs' role as pass-rush specialist

A generous amount of doubt surfaced regarding the effectiveness of the Ravens pass rush due to the continuing absence of outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, but no one can blame Haloti Ngata for not doing his part.

  5. Remarkable weekend ahead for Ravens defender Arthur Jones and his athletic family

  7. Will we see more of McClain at outside linebacker?

Four years ago, when Jameel McClain was in his rookie season with the Ravens, the undrafted free agent out of Syracuse first made his presence felt as a situational pass rusher. The gritty linebacker only had 16 tackles in 2008, but he recorded 2.5 sacks and a pair of safeties -- one more than Ray Lewis has in his long career.

Every morning, Monday through Friday, blogger Matt Vensel will hook you up with reading material -- mostly on the Ravens but with some other Baltimore sports stuff, too -- to skim through as you slug down coffee and slack off at the start of your workday. 13. Ravens players are rallying behind the Orioles

On Wednesday afternoon, Ravens safety Ed Reed meandered across the locker room with a black and orange Orioles hat sitting slightly tilted atop his head. He is not the first Ravens player to rock an O’s cap, as we have seen Anquan Boldin, Ray Rice and others do it before. But for the first time since 52 of the guys on the roster arrived here -- veteran linebacker Ray Lewis is the lone exception -- the Orioles are in first place in September.

As one of the Ravens’ eight picks in April’s NFL draft, DeAngelo Tyson knows that he performed well enough at the University of Georgia to draw the organization’s attention.

  17. Ravens need young defensive players to contribute

  19. Ravens camp highlights: Practice gets a little heated

CAMP BATTLE?: The first official fight of training camp took place Wednesday -- the last camp practice that will be held at the Under Armour Performance Center this summer -- and it was a good one. Defensive end Arthur Jones and center Gino Gradkowski wrestled each other to the ground during one play. Jones wound up on top and both started swinging. Then offensive tackle Jah Reid was swarmed by a group of defenders, including safety Bernard Pollard, and dozens of players jumped in to either get a few shots in or attempt to play peacemaker. Once the players separated themselves, it was back to business and the practice ended without another incident.

3. The Ravens defense is in transition, with Ray Lewis heading into retirement and Ed Reed meandering to who knows where, but the rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated
