  11. National League Cruises Past American League for 5-1 All-Star Victory

    The era of American League dominance in the All-Star appears to be over.  After 12 consecutive losses in the midsummer classic, the National League has now won two straight.    The NL defeated the AL 5-1 in Phoenix to earn home field advantage for their league champion.   The Phillies are currently the top team in the National League and certainly would welcome the chance to host four of the seven games in the World Series.   Milwaukee slugger Prince Fielder earns Most Valuable Player honors with a three-run homer off Texas starter C.J. Wilson.   The NL has a deep and talented pitching staff and the AL never seriously threatened the lead the rest of the way.
