  1. Take time for tea biscuits

    <strong>Q: Although I read the food section every week in the Sun Sentinel, I never thought I'd be one of those people who would write in. But, here I am and I know that if anyone can help me, it's you. I just went back to my hometown, after 30 plus years, outside Philadelphia, and went to a favorite bakery in Lansdowne, called My Old Place Bakery. Not only do they have the absolute best cinnamon buns they also have my very favorite tea biscuits, the doughy kind with raisins in them. Now for my question: Every time I buy tea biscuits at the grocery store bakeries they crumble, like a scone. The ones at My Old Place Bakery are so soft. Can you tell me where to find them or tell me the recipe? &mdash; Annette Pappas, Hollywood</strong>

    At one point of a dinner at Elizabeth restaurant, I was served a dark and rich maitake-mushroom tea (really a clarified broth) while a pure-white device on the table played Jefferson Airplane's &quot;White Rabbit." Which made me think that chef/owner Iliana Regan is a smidge older, or a ton hipper, than I'd supposed. Probably both.
