  13. Was trip to Cuba by Jay-Z, Beyonce wrong?

A recent trip taken by Jay-Z and his wife, Beyonce, to Cuba has drawn heated criticism from members of Congress. Federal law bans travel to Cuba by American citizens unless the government makes an exception. The White House says President Obama didn’t know about the trip. The Treasury Department says it authorized a cultural exchange visit to Cuba without knowing that the guests would include Jay-Z and Beyonce. Was Jay-Z wrong to take the trip? Was the Treasury Department wrong to authorize it? Does the ban on most U.S. travel to Cuba hurt the island’s communist dictators by denying them a critical source of cash? Or does it help them keep their grip on power by insulating the Cuban people from contact with Americans? Talk about it!
