  1. Richie Havens Dies

    <span style=&quot;font-size: 12pt;">Folk singer/guitarist <strong>Richie Havens</strong> died yesterday of a heart attack, his family said in a statement. He was 72. Havens, who was born in Brooklyn, is probably best known for opening the 1969 Woodstock Festival with a two-hour set featuring the song &ldquo;<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&amp;v=fA51wyl-9IE">Freedom</a>.&rdquo; He returned to the site in 2009 to celebrate the fest&rsquo;s 40<sup>th</sup> anniversary. A public memorial for Havens will be announced at a later date.</span>

  5. Former Toto Guitarist Abrahamian Dies After Show

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Longtime Starship guitarist Mark Abrahamian, an eleven-year member of the band, died of a heart attack he suffered in the dressing room following a concert in Norfolk, NE. He was 46. Road manager Scott Harrison said after Starship performed their opening act set on a bill that also included Boston and Survivor, Abrahamian complained about not feeling good, collapsed in the dressing room and was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Funeral services are pending. Abrahamian also played with bands Survivor, Toto, Loverboy and ACDC in his music career.</span>

  15. Dick Clark dies at age 82

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Famed "American Bandstand" and "New Year's Rockin' Eve" host Dick Clark died Wednesday morning (April 18) following what his agent Paul Shefrin says was a "massive heart attack." He was 82 years old. Clark's rep tells TMZ that he had been in the hospital after undergoing an outpatient procedure Tuesday night. He had the "massive" heart attack following the procedure. In 2004, Clark suffered a stroke, which forced him to retire from his New Year's hosting duties. Then in 2006 Ryan Seacrest took over the show, which Clark created in 1972, with Clark as co-host. Before his stroke, Clark revealed he had type 2 diabetes. The longtime producer, who got his start as a DJ in Philadelphia in 1952, is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, and three children from his first two marriages.</span>
