  1. TV Gal Turns Her Attention

I think you all know I can be somewhat singularly focused. So I've spent a lot of time this fall trying to drum up support for "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (I know, I know, many of you think it's too pretentious, but I love it anyway) and far too much time talking about "The Class" (By the way the first "Class" support group meets this Monday at 8:30 p.m. If you were previously a member of the "Good Morning Miami" or "Freddie" support group, you will be automatically admitted. All other applicants will be handled on a case-by-case basis.)

  5. Something's funny about this routine

OK, stop me if you've heard this one before: A comedy writer walks into Victors Liquor & Delicatessen in Hollywood at 12:30 Sunday afternoon, says hello to owner Bill Gotti and sits down at a table for 10. Pretty soon, a musician joins him. Then a comedian. Three more comedy writers. Another comedian. Another writer and his 8-year-old daughter. In short order, the old friends start kibitzing about work, reminiscing about their comic heroes and taking jabs at one another along with their eggs.

  9. Review: 'Kidnapped'

"Kidnapped" has the unfortunate problem of being the second serialized thriller about an abduction to hit the airwaves this season, five weeks behind FOX's "Vanished." But you know that adage about good things coming to those who wait? Well, here you go.

  23. 'Showboy'

While working as a writer-producer on "Six Feet Under," Christian Taylor decided to pursue a childhood dream while chronicling it on film. The result is the slyly amusing yet poignant "Showboy," which Taylor describes as "faction." This means he knew how his film would begin and end but the getting there would be discovered in the making. The result is a deliberate conflation of fact and fiction that yields unexpected emotional impact.
