1. Your morning fashion and beauty report: Victoria Beckham's got fashion cred. Naomi and Kate party hearty. And we're Gleeking out!

All The Rage
"Glee" is back, and I noticed right away how much more sophisticated-than-school-girlish Lea Michele's character, Rachel, looks: sleek new hairstyle with bangs, a chic fitted dress as she belted "What I Did for Love." Of course, the slouchy socks let........

7. Your morning fashion and beauty report: Oscar nominations for costume design leave out 'Black Swan.' Dior, Chanel kick off spring couture shows in Paris.

11. Double-barreled firepower

Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
It's one of the most urgent questions facing men of a certain age today, particularly in Latin American countries, a question that strikes at one's core values and affirms one's identity as a soccer-mad, tequila-swigging, red-blooded varon. That question...

13. Slackers in Icelandin '101 Reykjavik'

TIMES FILM CRITIC
"What is it you do in life?" Lola asks Hlynur. "Nothing." "What kind of nothing?" "The nothing kind of nothing." Hlynur is not exaggerating. The protagonist of "101 Reykjavik," possibly the first and certainly the most successful Icelandic slacker...

15. Oscar nominees, Oscar fugitives

Tribune staff reporter
Every year when the Academy Award nominations come out, we have a few questions -- not of the "Why wasn't so-and-so nominated?" variety, but of the "This is weird, what's the deal?" variety. So we decided to do some digging and answer those nagging...

17. Unlocking The Secrets Of Almodovar

The nine-disc "Viva Pedro: The Almodovar Collection" ($117.95) from Sony Pictures Classics is an excellent passport to that witty, campy, involving land of filmmaker Pedro Almodovar. It contains eight of the Spanish director's best films, two of which -- Law of Desire and Matador -- are new to DVD. All are in Spanish with English subtitles. Three excellent featurettes are included as well: "Experiencing Almodovar," "Viva Pedro" and "Deconstructing Pedro." An added, albeit small, touch is a set of eight well-designed Almodovar postcards.

19. Taking another look at Oscar nominees

Tribune movie critic
Last Tuesday's Oscar nominations were both exciting and intriguing -- and only intermittently outrageous. But they remind us that Academy Award races are usually taken seriously for the wrong reasons (their possible commercial effects) and not seriously...
