5. Author Claims MI5 Plotted To End Stones

<span style="font-size: small;">An author claims MI5, which is the United Kingdom's internal counter-intelligence and security agency, planned to sabotage the Rolling Stones’ career, and the infamous Redlands raid was the result of a carefully-orchestrated plot. Philip Norman says the British secret service forced a drug dealer to infiltrate band circles with the intention of discrediting Mick Jagger and co, so that they’d fall out of fame. The police raid on Keith Richards’ Redlands home in February 1967 failed to secure the end of the Stones, although Jagger and Richards both spent time in jail as a result of the investigation.Philip Norman’s book Mick Jagger is published on October 4 by HarperCollins.

  7. Ronnie Wood's Ex Auctioning Off His Stuff

<span style="font-size: small;">Divorce can be nasty business – and if your ex-husband happens to be a guitarist for the Rolling Stones – profitable as well. Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife, Jo, is selling off a huge lot of his clothes, artwork and instruments on October 27 at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, and he’s not exactly thrilled about it. Wood’s rep released a statement, which reads in part: “He is…shocked and disappointed that this auction is being misrepresented as a joint sale. This is not the case. He is staggered that some of the items being offered at the auction are clearly his personal belongings, which did not pass to Jo as part of the divorce proceedings.”
