    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Sitting pretty at No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase country singles charts, "Downtown" has become Lady Antebellum's fastest-charting single to date. The song is the superstar trio's seventh career No. 1 and is already certified gold, signifying sales of more than half a million downloads. "Downtown" is the first single released from Lady A's Golden album, due in stores May 7. "Most of what the world has seen from Hillary (Scott) from a radio single standpoint is this very sweet kind of style like 'American Honey,'" says the group's Charles Kelley. "But she's got a lot of sass and a lot of grit to her voice, too, so it's been really fun to bring that out of her and have this kind of support from our fans and radio."</span>

  2. 2013 ACM's - Biggest Viewing Audience In 15 Years

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">There were a whole lot of viewers who were crying along with Miranda Lambert when she won Female Vocalist of the Year and grooving to the beat of Lady Antebellum&lsquo;s performance of &lsquo;Downtown&lsquo; during the 2013 ACM Awards. In fact, the 48th annual show had over 15 million viewers (15.38 million, to be exact), posting the largest audience since 1998. Country music&rsquo;s biggest party of the year soared to the top of Sunday night&rsquo;s television ratings, with CBS beating out the 2013 NCAA Basketball Tournament, NBA Basketball and MLB Baseball. It goes to show that the ACMs have something for everyone, as sports fans got their athletic fix through the Band Perry&lsquo;s high-energy dancing, while fans of &lsquo;The Voice&rsquo; were able to see coach Blake Shelton perform his fan-favorite hit &lsquo;Sure Be Cool if You Did.&rsquo; Plus, there was a great shock factor of seeing Luke Bryan win Entertainer of the Year. If you&rsquo;re a statistics guru, you&rsquo;ll also be glad to know the 2013 ACMs had the highest number of households and adults ages 18-49 since 2001 and adults ages 25-54 since 2000. The April 7 broadcast also marked the first time the ACM Awards have beaten the same season&rsquo;s Country Music Awards in these ratings categories. Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, was floored by the news, saying, &ldquo;Wow, we knew we had a great plan to get the word out to music fans to watch, but the fact that they embraced us on this level just makes us want to reach higher next year.&rdquo; The 2013 ACMs were such a smashing success, it&rsquo;s no wonder that everyone wanted to get in on the action and see their favorite country stars perform, accept awards and have a whole lot of fun.</span>

  3. Lady Antebellum Speaks the Truth in New Single

    Lady Antebellum&rsquo;s new smash, &ldquo;Downtown,&rdquo; is on its way to take over radio! The song is full of attitude, with Hillary Scott singing main vocals throughout the track. She was addicted to the song when she first heard it, and Hillary loves the how the girl in the song is unafraid to speak what is on her mind. &ldquo;I just loved it. I thought it was playful. I liked the girl in the song is not afraid to just be like, &lsquo;What are you doing? Why aren&rsquo;t you doing this? Like being so forward and strong, just empowered, I think. I loved it. I love the voice that she has in the song.&rdquo; &ldquo;Downtown&rdquo; is the first release from their upcoming fourth studio album. Lady A will debut their new single this evening (1/28), on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC, at 11:35PM Eastern.

  4. Country Stars Taking Over the World

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift are taking over the world&hellip;literally. All three artists received the most nominations out of any country artists at the upcoming World Music Awards. Jason and Taylor received six, while Carrie got five. The fan-voted, all-genre awards show, honors the &ldquo;world&rsquo;s bestselling recording artists,&rdquo; and is determined by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). The show will broadcast to North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, China, other parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and all of Africa - reaching an estimated worldwide audience of around one billion viewers in over 160 countries. The World Music Awards will be held on December 22nd in Miami. </span>

  5. Country Artist React to Connecticut Shooting

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">The world was struck with horrible news on Friday, after a deadly shooting occurred at&nbsp;<em>Sandy Hook Elementary School</em>, in Newtown, Connecticut. 20-year-old <strong>Adam Lanza</strong>, went on a shooting rampage killing 27 people &ndash; including 20 children &ndash; before taking his own life.     <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Some of country music&rsquo;s biggest stars were on hand for the American Music Awards. Taylor Swift took home the Favorite Country Female award for the fourth consecutive year &ndash; beating Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. The singer was later introduced by Florida Georgia Line, as she performed her hit, &ldquo;I Knew You Were Trouble&rdquo; - which included a costume change. Lady Antebellum was excited to announce the winner for Favorite Country Male, as Luke Bryan took home the award over Jason Aldean and Eric Church. Lady A also took home an award for Favorite Country Band/Duo Group. Luke shared a moment with pop star Justin Bieber, after announcing him as the winner of Favorite Pop/Rock Album. He tried to help Justin wipe off the lipstick on his face, which was left by his fellow presenter Jenny McCarthy.     <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Billboard awarded Lady Antebellum with their Breakthrough Award at the 2012 Billboard Touring Awards last week. Millions enjoyed the group&rsquo;s world tour this year, almost as much as the band did themselves! In fact, Dave Haywood says the tour has had a huge impact on their songwriting as they prepare their next studio album. &ldquo;I think you know getting out and touring this year has kinda shed a new light for us as songwriters, on where we want to go. I mean, we started last November on Own The Night and we were blown away by the response all throughout this year and this summer, and you really kinda realize what songs translate to a large audience.
