  1. 'Yes Is the Answer' asks the question: Who's afraid of prog rock?

    "Yes Is the Answer" is a collection of 20 essays related to progressive rock and its somewhat less regularly derided cousin art rock. Fifteen of the writers care about the subject, or used to. The other five came along to kibitz — a chess term for the chatter of bystanders who provide unwanted commentary while the players sit and rack their brains. As with chess, progressive rock is commonly assumed by outsiders to be a sexless, all-male realm of wasted intellect. Many of the essayists in "Yes Is the Answer" operate under this belief. If you're a prog fan, opening the book can be like stumbling into Monty Python's Department of Abuse.

  3. Going big for my son's first concert

    <strong>Update 6/10/13:</strong> My son's first concert went better than I could ever have expected for all of us. The show was about 3 hours of hit after hit (<a href=&quot;http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/blogs/soundboard/os-fleetwood-mac-tampa-review,0,7172602.post" target="_self">read Sentinel Music Critic Jim Abbott's review here</a>), and we all loved it. My son sat still for most of it, which was hard even for me.

  9. Where do you belong?

    Have you ever started something and not finished it? I have. I am an avid reader. Books on leadership, most how-to-do-its and biographies are my favorites. I love to read for the benefit of application. Many times, when I get a helpful concept or two, I seem to tire of the book and set it down. Then, a while later, I'll move on to the next promising title. Consequently, I have a stack of books about knee high in my office and a number more scattered around the house that I have not yet closed out. Certainly, some do not demand an entire read, but I do think my practice is a bad habit. We really should finish some of the things we start.&nbsp;

  21. Unleashed by Jesus

    Happy Easter, everybody! Easter is a happy time of year for many because it marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring, despite a stray winter storm or two. But Easter is more than just a seasonal indicator. Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is the time Christ followers celebrate the central event of Christianity &mdash; Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Jesus' rising unleashed a movement of good will that over the last 2,000 years swept across the globe.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
