  2. Roth Stumped By Stalled State of Van Halen

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">In a recent Q&amp;A with Rolling Stone, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth took the time to express his angst about the lack of activity in and around the band&rsquo;s camp, which has been in hibernation for some time now. Roth said in regards to writing new songs, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m not sure what&rsquo;s in Ed&rsquo;s [Van Halen] mind at this point. Truth be told, Edward and I haven&rsquo;t written a new song in 20 years.&rdquo; Addressing the lack of movement on securing any new tour dates, he said, &ldquo;There&rsquo;s nothing on the ticket as far as [touring past this summer], and that&rsquo;s a disappointment, frankly. We have an audience and we have a potential future in many, many places, but our story is one of a whole lotta Shakespeare going on.&rdquo;</span>

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Musically open-minded fans of Van Halen will have much to discuss after listening to a radically reworked version of the band&rsquo;s huge hit &ldquo;Jump,&rdquo; which David Lee Roth posted on his official website. Dubbed <a href="http://www.davidleeroth.com/music/whitenoize.mp3">&ldquo;Super Floor Whitenoize Remix,&rdquo; </a>production of the new mix was done by the San Francisco-based DJ duo Whitenoize, who state: &ldquo;Fair Warning: This is for people who thought the original &lsquo;Jump&rsquo; was too hard rock.&rdquo;</span>

I was there, brother, for the insane &rsquo;round-the-world ride that was 1980 through 1984. Van Halen were kings- no, GODS. We were Van Halen. We could do no wrong. The crazier we got, the more you loved us, and the more you loved us, the bigger we got. Nobody could improve on what we&rsquo;d perfected. The Stones may have been a rock &rsquo;n&rsquo; roll circus but we were a rock &rsquo;n&rsquo; roll zoo. &ldquo;I was director of security. My job description was simply one line: Protect the band.   5. Bertinelli Was Van Halen's Yoko?

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">In a new interview with LA Weekly, Warner Music label rep Ted Cohen claims Eddie Van Halen&rsquo;s ex-wifeValerie Bertinelli caused Van Halen to split with David Lee Roth back in 1985. Cohen says Bertinelli argued that Eddie should get most of the credit for the band&rsquo;s massive success and felt Roth was expendable. Cohen said, &ldquo;David was an integral part of the band&rsquo;s success. He was brilliant.
