Highlights
Mickey Rourke started out with a promising acting career with memorable roles in "Diner," "Body Heat," and "Nine 1/2 Weeks." As time went on, Rourke earned a reputation as a difficult star, and the roles started to dry up. The comeback story of 2008 was Rourke's portrayal of washed-up Randy 'The Ram' Robinson in "The Wrestler," in which he earned an Oscar nomination and won a Golden Globe. Rourke is also known for his love of his dogs (he thanked them during his Globes acceptance speech) and his boxing prowess.

'The Wrestler' well worth seeing, but not for squeamish
WatchdogFinally saw "The Wrestler" Saturday night, which is sort of in my jurisdiction, as it is about a sort-of sport. As advertised, Mickey Rourke is excellent, as is Marisa Tomei. (She's 44? Really?) The movie works mostly as a character......Tags: The Wrestler (movie), Marisa Tomei, Wrestling

Peter Puck was a towering media figure in the 1970s
WatchdogExcellent job out of Fang's Bites rounding up these old Peter Puck episodes from the 1970s. I quite enjoy Sundays in late February and early March. No NFL, no March Madness, no baseball. Nothing but cold drizzle and the numbing......Tags: Billy Dee Williams, Academy Awards, National Basketball Association, Indiana Hoosiers, Denzel Washington

Like gym where he trains, this Manny Pacquiao bout is a Wild Card
The only hint of nearby legendary greatness is a handwritten sign on an orange parking cone on the fourth step of a concrete staircase in the back of a strip mall in Hollywood. The sign says that the Wild Card Gym will be closed at 1 p.m. It doesn't get...

Review: 2 1/2 stars for 'Iron Man 2'
"A passable knock-off": That's how the man in the Iron Man mask, the obscenely rich but heartsick industrialist played by Robert Downey Jr., characterizes the electro-weaponry wielded by his Slavic adversary ( Mickey Rourke) in "Iron Man 2."
Much of this...Tags: Watchmen (movie), Entertainment, Don Cheadle, Marvel Entertainment, Inc., Iron Man (movie)
