  1. S.C. Parade Has Mobile Outhouse and Cross-Dressers

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Floats at a lighthearted South Carolina Christmas parade included a jail cell float, two Grinches, a mobile outhouse and a cross-dresser named Fatback Queen. The 19th annual Boykin Parade, in the unincorporated Boykin community in rural Kershaw County, drew a crowd of thousands to view the animals, tractors, marching bands and unusual floats. &ldquo;The only thing organized about this parade is disorganization,&rdquo; joked Rowland Alston, a dignitary on the reviewing stand in downtown Boykin. The parade included a contingent of blue-clad Civil War re-enactors, a 55-piece marching band from Thomas Sumter Academy, a dog-themed float with the slogan &ldquo;Bark the Herald Angels Sing&rdquo; and representatives of local law enforcement agencies.</span>

    <span>Steven Spielberg&rsquo;s historical drama &ldquo;Lincoln&rdquo; was nominated for a leading seven Golden Globe Awards, including Best Drama, yesterday morning. Quentin Tarantino&rsquo;s blood-soaked, 19th century-set revenge picture &ldquo;Django Unchained&rdquo; and Ben Affleck&rsquo;s Iran hostage-crisis nail-biter are each up for five prizes, while the movie musical &ldquo;Les Miserables,&rdquo; the mental-illness comedy &ldquo;Silver Linings Playbook&rdquo; and the hunt-for-Osama-bin-Laden thriller &ldquo;Zero Dark Thirty&rdquo; each earned four nods.   4. Frampton Stays Alive With Plenty Of Projects

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Guitarist Peter Frampton says he has a full plate of activity lined for 2013, starting with &ldquo;writing brand new material and next April I&rsquo;m playing three, hopefully four shows with the Cincinnati Ballet,&rdquo; he said in a recent radio interview. Of backing ballet dancers, the rocker said, &ldquo;[It&rsquo;s] kind of scary, but very exciting.&rdquo; Frampton also let slip that he&rsquo;s been entertaining thoughts about his old band Humble Pie, specifically, releasing band material next year. He said the first project consists of remixing all four shows from which material for Rockin&rsquo; the Fillmore was culled, &ldquo;and also in the works is a complete box set of Humble Pie, so that&rsquo;s going to be interesting.&rdquo; As if that wasn&rsquo;t enough, look for a new Frampton tour in 2013 as well.</span>

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Some of country music&rsquo;s biggest stars were on hand for the American Music Awards. Taylor Swift took home the Favorite Country Female award for the fourth consecutive year &ndash; beating Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. The singer was later introduced by Florida Georgia Line, as she performed her hit, &ldquo;I Knew You Were Trouble&rdquo; - which included a costume change. Lady Antebellum was excited to announce the winner for Favorite Country Male, as Luke Bryan took home the award over Jason Aldean and Eric Church. Lady A also took home an award for Favorite Country Band/Duo Group. Luke shared a moment with pop star Justin Bieber, after announcing him as the winner of Favorite Pop/Rock Album. He tried to help Justin wipe off the lipstick on his face, which was left by his fellow presenter Jenny McCarthy.
