1. 'Peeples' star Craig Robinson's full plate may get even fuller

For the last nine seasons Craig Robinson has played Darryl, one of the most understated characters on TV. "The Office" may be closing out its ninth and final season next week, but Robinson's profile is about to increase exponentially. He has three movies coming out, including the idiots-at-the-apocalypse comedy "This Is the End" (with Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jonah Hill) and "Rapture-Palooza" (playing no less than the Antichrist himself, seducing Anna Kendrick).

3. 'Peeples' review: Nothing risked, nothing gained

** (out of four)
** (out of four) Maybe people faint all the time. I’ve never seen it. By my count, movie characters faint roughly 450,000 times more often than real people do. Comic effect is one thing, but who really laughs at someone fainting? Much like the...

5. Video/Q&A: Chicago native Craig Robinson of 'Peeples'

Apropos of nothing, Craig Robinson is singing R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.”
Apropos of nothing, Craig Robinson is singing R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.” The Beverly native best known as Darryl Philbin on “The Office” is in the next room prepping for an interview about “Peeples,”...

7. Looking ahead to the Tony Awards: An off year for musicals, but 'Once' deserves to win

NEW YORK — What with "Ghost,""Lysistrata Jones" and other wearying disappointments, the 2012-13 Broadway season hardly will go down as a banner year for new American musicals. Indeed, should the best-musical Tony Award go, at Sunday night's ceremony, to a show other than "Once" or "Newsies" — the only remotely viable candidates for this most important of theatrical honors — the theater chatterati will be speechless and Tweetless. For a couple of seconds.

9. 'Porgy and Bess' on Broadway is missing the push and pull

For all the controversy that has surrounded Diane Paulus' revisionist Broadway revival of "Porgy and Bess," or, as it now is billed, "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess," the considerable strengths of this production, which opened Thursday night at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, are in the traditional pleasures of witnessing a passionate, beautifully sung, richly visualized, splendidly played and indisputably well-intentioned "Porgy." This is a great American opera filled with breathtaking stakes, towering characters and a thudding naturalistic intensity.

11. Arguments in 'Race' fly fast, furious and recklessly close at the Goodman

THEATER REVIEW: "Race" at the Goodman Theatre ★★★½ ... There is no shrewder scribe than that ideologically slippery writer David Mamet, who figured out that the one problem with all those careful plays about racism is that many of them are, well, boring.
