1. Ready or not, here come the Celtics

Lakers Blog
The Lakers have been in Boston for three days, a quirk in the schedule since their victory Monday in Memphis. Now they finally get to play a game tonight at TD Garden. For reasons either informational or torturous, they were forced by Lakers Coach Phil...

3. Endless options exist for the Pacers

The Pacers finished a dismal 32-50 last season. The team has the 10th pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and also received the Mavericks 2nd round pick which completed the Shawne Williams trade. The need for a prime-time point guard is apparent, especially after the injury to A.J. Price. Indiana could also be looking at a big man in the draft, or may end up trading the pick. The Pacers seem to have an infinite amount of options in front of them; what they choose may decide the fate of the team.

5. Looking back at the Lakers' Memorial Day performances

Lakers Blog
It's surely a weird feeling for Laker fans today, firing up their grills, hitting the beach and honoring the veterans that make our country safe. That's because for the first time in three years, the Lakers aren't still playing basketball and competing...

7. Ask Sam: Sam Smith's NBA mailbag

I recall that at the time of the Tyson Chandler trade, many people predicted that the Bulls would regret getting Wallace in a year or two. He was already slipping. Also, obtaining Wallace did not mean the Bulls had to give away Tyson Chandler for almost...

11. K.C. Johnson's Bulls mailbag

The Bulls have a chance to get to .500 Friday night in Memphis. I have a chance to get to .500 in fans' opinion since I got ripped plenty for my answers last week. Hope you like this batch and keep the questions coming. K.C., why Tyrus and Joakim are not...

Can the Bulls sell on Kirk Hinrich while his stock is still relatively high, get a true point guard (maybe from Memphis, who should be looking to deal one), and use the remaining core/expiring contracts to be a desirable destination for LeBron/DWade/Bosh when or if they hit the market? --Tommy, Tulsa, Okla.

17. Ask Sam Smith

How true were the rumors that the Bulls almost traded the No. 7 pick and Donyell Marshall for the No. 3 pick in the 2003 draft to get Dwyane Wade? And was the deal breaker the Bulls' reluctance to give up Marshall? I don't think many thought Wade would be...

21. Suns sank; could Bulls?

Tribune staff reporter
It seems like only yesterday the Bulls and Phoenix Suns were battling for an NBA title. That was back in 1993, when the Bulls beat the Suns 4-2 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals to win the franchise's third championship. Things are different now. Much...

The telephone message emanating these days from the offices of the Boston Celtics identifies the franchise as having won 16 NBA championships. What it doesn't mention is this: It has been 20 years since the last one. On June 8, 1986, the Celtics closed...
