1. Film review: Oliver Stone's 'Savages' isn't as action-packed as hoped

Here's how excited I was to see "Savages": My favorite pizza place is located next to a subway entrance. Above the entrance is a prominently-displayed ad for "Savages."

Here's how excited I was to see "Savages": My favorite pizza place is located next to a subway entrance. Above the entrance is a prominently-displayed ad for "Savages." One night while I was picking up some garlic knots, I pointed to the sign just...

3. Savages

This movie is all over the map (literally and figuratively). It was fun hearing all the San Diego locations mentioned and in that regard, I thought of the other movie like this I didn’t care for – Traffic. That film also dealt with a woman taking over her husbands drug business (this time it’s the Salma Hayek, sporting a Cleopatra style wig).

7. Reel Critics: Oliver Stone's 'Savages' twists and thrills

I was going to review of Woody Allen's "To Rome with Love," but why waste your time? Except for the scenery, it's a major disappointment. Oliver Stone's pulpy, ferocious thriller"Savages" makes greed good and exciting.

13. Albert Nobbs

I tried thinking of clever puns like “Close, but no cigar.” The problem with that one is the movie wasn’t even close. It was so far from close to being remotely interesting. At the screening I attended with 20 other critics, I had never witnessed anything like what I saw that day. At least half of them left during the middle of the movie. A few didn’t come back; a few went to make phone calls or hit the bathroom, and came back 10 minutes later.

*1/2 (out of four)
RedEye movie critic
*1/2 (out of four) In 19th century Ireland, when people apparently can’t tell the difference between a man and a woman, Albert Nobbs (co-writer Glenn Close) works as a waiter in an upscale hotel where no one knows that he’s actually a woman....
