Vying for the three three-year terms are Bryce Richter, Sturgis, Ezra Hays and Curtis Nupen, both of Piedmont, and Robert Burns, the incumbent, from Black Hawk. Amy Conover of Sturgis had filed petitions but recently withdrew her name because she has been hired by the district as a special education teacher.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>The other two incumbents, Wanda Blair of Vale and Nancy Richter of Enning, are not running for re-election.</span>
