Shake Shack’s Angus beef is 100 percent natural, vegetarian fed and humanely raised without hormones or antibiotics. Shake Shack’s electric use is offset through wind power and Renewable Energy Certificates. Bottles, cardboard and plastics are recycled. Cooking oil is reused to produce clean energy and kitchen food is composted.

  19. Tibet Comes To Trinity College, Starting Sept. 14

Tibet is coming to Trinity College in the form of a large eight-by-eight-foot work of art made of sand. And it's not arriving completed. Six Buddhist nuns from the Keydong Thuk-che Choeling Nunnery in Nepal arrived for the third time at Trinity College in August to take part in a month-long process of making a mandala. For those of you who don't know, a mandala is a religious painting made from white nuggets found in Tibet that have been collected and later crushed and dyed. On September 15, in the Austin Arts Center's Garmany Hall at 1 p.m., the process of making the mandala will be initiated. Participants will also get the chance to see the mandala disassembled and later scattered into the Connecticut River at the Charter Oak Landing in Hartford on October 14.
