1. "Cricket Clan" Banned From Graduation

<span style="font-size: small;">Guess you could say high school officials were a little more than bugged by this senior prank. Seven students were banned from attending graduation last Saturday after they released 10,000 crickets into the halls of East Carter High School in Grayson, Kentucky. Plus, they won’t be able to receive their diplomas until they pay a collective $600 fine. Some students and parents criticized the “harsh” punishment, but Principal Larry Kiser said the insects were still hiding in parts of the school and costly exterminators had to be called in to get rid of them.

While the whole world seems to be getting hip to Luke’s country lifestyle, the singer is simply being himself and singing about what he knows. “I mean so many times in college, you know we had big field parties, and everybody—and then behind my fraternity house in college, we would lay the tailgate down and just party in the backyard with our trucks—lot of smiles kinda come up on your face when you start talking memories of trucks and stuff.” The album sold over 145-thousand copies in its first week, edging out Eric Church’s Chief to become the second highest debut for a country album this year behind Brad Paisley’s This Is Country Music. "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" has sold more than one million downloads and is his best-selling single to date.

  9. Taylor Talks Notre Dame Visit In Special

In an upcoming E! Network special on pop star Selena Gomez, her BFF Taylor Swift tells the story of their recent visit to a huge college campus! When the two went to visit Taylor’s brother at the University of Notre Dame last fall, they hoped to fly under the radar and “fit in” as regular, everyday college students. According to OK! Magazine Taylor says, “We’re like wearing the Notre Dame jacket and the Notre Dame visor and we learned that’s not how you fit in at college, evidently.” She said at one point they had to call campus security due to the large groups of people who were following them around. Swift and Gomez wrapped up their day at college by taking in a football game and dinner at a local pizza joint.

  19. 'Great Day': New life for old music of black churches

As afternoon light tried to filter through the thick, stained-glass windows of Sharp Street United Methodist Church last weekend, Marco K. Merrick pounded out the bass line of a spiritual on a raw-sounding piano, singing along in a raspy voice: "Great day, the righteous marching. Great day, God's going to build up Zion's walls."
