    The Hartford Courant

  7. Broad Channel Homes Hung Out To Dry

They feel as if they are the forgotten.  Everywhere we drive along this little spit of Queens, twenty blocks long, four blocks wide, residents stop us or just give us a shout out. "Tell them we need help!"  "Where's the Red Cross?"  "PIX 11 is the only media here!!"

  9. 'Jersey Shore' recap, Final season premiere - where's the drama?

It's so hard ... to say goodbye ... to  Jersey Shore (I hope you slowly sang that in your head just like I did!). But hey -- at least we have another season before we have to come to term with our emotions.

  15. 'The President Was Here!' looks at chief executives who spent time in Lehigh Valley

They came here for our votes, and left us their dirty coffee cups, empty beer glasses and even locks of hair. First on horseback, then by train and by Air Force One, 24 presidents have visited the Lehigh Valley, not to mention vice presidents, candidates and other high-ranking officials.

  17. Survivor Recap: Our Hometown Player

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Survivor is back! We are on the 25th season of the hit reality show that catapulted competition-reality shows to the primetime. This season is like no other; tribes are separated into 3 tribes of 6 people. Each tribe has a returning player that was taken out of the game from a medical evacuation. Jonathon Penner of Cook Islands and Micronesia, Russell Swan from Samoa and Michael Skupin from Australian Outback are back. &nbsp;Skupin made TV GOLD when he fell into the fire in his original season. I can still remember watching him fall and then seeing dead skin covering his hands as he stands in the ocean. Jeff tells the castaways which tribes they are on and that they have 90 seconds to gather as much resources off the ship as possible. The tribes gathered fruit, wood, ropes and chickens. Well, they tried their hardest to kill those poor chicken as they tossed them into a cage then throw it in the water. Note: they didn&rsquo;t intentionally try to kill the chickens but carelessness could lead to PETA calling.</span>

  19. Review: 'Under My Skin' may get under yours

Connoisseurs of really bad television &mdash; you know you're out there &mdash; whose taste for schlock hasn't been satisfied by the mediocre new fall season should run to the Pasadena Playhouse to see &quot;Under My Skin." The title is meant to be romantic, but anyone who manages to sit through both irritating acts of this lowest-common-denominator comedy will know that the truth is far more painfully dermatological.
