7. Steel-cable barrier on I-78: Strong enough?

Q: After a number of bad 'crossover' accidents on I-78 in the Lehigh Valley over the years, it's good to see they finally installed a barrier on the grass median. But with the high percentage of truck traffic, it seems the wire fencing would be no match...

  9. Preparing your home for storms

Jill Sorensen's basement flooded after a winter storm knocked out her power, then again in 2011 during Hurricane Irene.

  15. Yellow brick buildings come from clay pit

A clay pit and kiln in Boyne Falls produced yellow bricks that were used for buildings in the village and over east. The brick kiln is about 50 yards north of Aten Place on a bank on the "Old Mackinaw Trail," a half-mile south of the village. Chunks of the yellow brick — like the "Yellow Brick Road" — crop out of the side of the bank in about a 20-square-yard area and brick-bats (small chunks) that exploded out of the kiln door in days gone by are scattered over the field toward Aten's farmhouse.

  19. Lehigh Parkway wall, and road, stable for now, permanent fix to come

Q: When you turn into the Lehigh Parkway from S. 12th Street approaching the stone wall, traffic cones are set out, making the road one lane. This continues for the length of the wall, and the bridle path on the other side of the wall is closed off. It has been this way for quite a while. What is going on? I don't see any work being done.

    Watchdog with Paul Muschick
