15. Jersey Governor Weeps After Meeting Springsteen

<span style="font-size: small;">In yet another case of politics making strange bedfellows, Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, the man who delivered the keynote address for Mitt Romney at the Republican National Convention, was driven to tears after meeting and hugging his lifelong hero, Bruce Springsteen, an ardent supporter of President Barack Obama and a sometime critic of Christie. Of course what brought these two together was the common goal of helping their fellow New Jersey residents struggling to rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Gov. Christie told a group of volunteers “that the hug was great and that when we got home there was a lot of weeping because of the hug.”

  21. Rockers React To Hurricane Through Twitter

<span style="font-size: small;">As Hurricane Sandy leaves a path of destruction across the East Coast of North America, classic rockers have taken to Twitter to share their support with those affected by the storm, and to urge their fans to remain safe as flooding and high winds continue to affect much of America and Canada. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler sent his thoughts and prayers to all his followers in harm’s way, as did Motley Crue members Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx. Sammy Hagar, whose Atlantic City Beach Bar and Grill sits directly in the storm’s path, reminds his fans that buildings can be repaired and urges them to focus on personal safety.

  23. Sammy Hagar's Atlantic City Bar Trashed By Hurricane

<span style="font-size: small;">It has become a rite of passage for rock fans visiting Atlantic City to get trashed at Sammy Hagar‘s Beach Bar & Grill. However, Mother Nature has enacted its own form of revenge, as Hurricane Sandy has wreaked considerable damage to the beachfront party spot. Hagar posted the above picture to his Facebook page along with the following message. “Hope all Redheads and BB&G staff are safe and dry! Here is a look at the damage – we will rebuild!” The Beach Bar & Grill is only open from May through Labor Day Weekend, so at least Hagar is not losing business, nor is the staff temporarily unemployed, as a result of the damage. Hagar opened the club at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and casino in May 2010. The restaurant has also helped the Atlantic City community. Profits from the Beach Bar & Grill go to the Hagar Family Foundation, which supports local children’s charities. We are sure he will be able to rebuild in time for the 2013 beach season.
