  1. Judge Fines Himself For Contempt

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;">A judge in Michigan broke his own rule! Judge Raymond Voet found himself in contempt of court after his own cellphone went off in the middle of a trial! During closing arguments, Voet accidentally tapped against the screen of his Windows smartphone, triggering its voice commands. "It started talking really loud, saying 'I can't understand you. Say something like Mom,'" the red-faced judge said. He insisted on treating himself the same as he would anyone else who violated the cell phone rule - he fined himself $25 for contempt of court. "If I cannot live by the rules that I enforce," Voet said, "then I have no business enforcing these rules." Seems fair to us!</span>
