    Missouri Republican Rep. Todd Akin recently said some morally objectionable things about rape and abortion, but in his attempted apology he included a statement that can't be dismissed lightly by anyone interested in moral or legal justice: "I do not believe that harming another innocent victim is the right course of action."   23. Apartment robbed, man shot in Allison Hill

    Robbers stole a Vernon Street man's valuables at gunpoint, then took his house key and marched him at gunpoint back to his apartment, where they robbed the other occupants and shot one of them. It happened around 11pm Monday. The 37 year old victim said he was talking on his cell at the corner of Vernon and 13th when the first two robbers approached him. A third thug joined in en route to the man's apartment and held the victim outside while the other two robbed the men inside the apartment on the 1300 block of Vernon. In the course of the robbery, a 39 year old man was shot, twice in one leg and once in his hand, by the robbers.
