Phillip Phillips is the season 11 winner of American Idol. The final show aired on FOX, Tuesday night live in L-A and featured performances from Reba McEntire, Neil Diamond and more. Phillip sang the song “Home” as his winning tune for Idol, Phillip was too choked up to finish singing the song. A record-setting 132-million people cast their votes to decide who won this year’s contest. Season five Idol competitor Ace Young proposed to Diana DeGarmo onstage at the Idol finale. Diana was a runner-up on season three of Idol. The pair met in the spring of 2010, when they both were cast inBroadway’s revival of Hair. Carrie Underwood and her husband were there to cheer on the finalists. Last year’s winner Scotty McCreery was also in the audience.
