Carrie Underwood has commented on remarks she made earlier this month regarding gay marriage in an interview with a British newspaper. The “Good Girl” singer told The Independent that her church is “gay friendly” and added, “I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.” Now, she tells the Associated Press, “I was asked a difficult question in the last five minutes of an interview and I answered the best way I knew how.” She says, “I generally try to stay out of any kind of controversy,” and admits she’s avoided reading most of the reactions to her comments online.
