One of country music’s most respected artists is putting the finishing touches on a new album. Alan Jackson said this week that his next project, due out this fall, is almost complete. “We’re about finished it up. We’re doing some mixing on it now. But, uh…pretty much done and it’s just uh…I think we got a good bunch of material together and uh…I think it’s gonna be a fun time. I’m ready to put it out!” No release date has been set yet for the album which includes the single, “Long Way to Go.” Alan just received his 80th career CMA Award nomination with a Musical Event of the Year nod for his collaboration with Zac Brown Band on “As She’s Walking Away.”

Recently, Alan had the chance to perform at an event commemorating the anniversary of 9/11, and while he was there, he had the opportunity to meet President Barack Obama. “He was real nice and his wife and they’re real tall! I didn’t realize they were both so tall! [laughs] That’s the fourth president I’ve sung for that’s uh…when I think about that, that’s crazy. I mean, where I come from in that little town of Georgia, I never thought I’d even go to Washington, much less sing for four presidents. So, it’s pretty crazy.”
