And I don’t even like to let my hair girl curl my hair, ’cause I just…I don’t like all the big fluff. I think less is more. So…but I know where to go if I need hair spray or gel (laughs).” Flatts Fest continues this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  3. Tim McGraw Performs With Broken Foot

Fans who saw Tim McGraw in concert over the weekend noticed something a little different about the country superstar; he was wearing a foot brace and using a cane! The Emotional Traffic tour made stops in Raleigh and Virginia Beach this weekend and Tim was wearing the corrective boot during both shows. Apparently, he broke his foot but there’s not confirmation on how the injury happened. On his Facebook page, photos were posted of Tim with his hurt foot along with a few statements explaining that he would perform for the “first time in his career” with a cast. In another post, Tim said, “FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, car wrecks, bar fights, bullridin'...and this is the first broken bone I've ever had!” The next stop on Tim’s Emotional Traffic tour is Friday in Morristown, Ohio.

  5. Loretta Lynn Cancels Due to Illness

Loretta Lynn has been forced to cancel one of her shows this coming weekend due to illness. The 76-year old won’t be taking the stage at Sunday’s Jamboree in the Hills in Ohio because she was recently admitted to the hospital for dehydration. Her home state of Tennessee has been experiencing extreme heat and this could have contributed to the legendary singer’s illness. Other country artists appearing at the Jamboree this weekend include Toby Keith, Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert.

  9. Shelli Harmon

Originally from Coloma, Michigan, Shelli spent several years as a radio nomad. She worked in radio on Long Island, NY, and also in Louisville, KY, Charlotte, NC, and Cincinnati, Ohio before deciding to come home to Michiana. Shelli now makes her home in Niles with Luke, her teenage son. Of course, a teen means trips to the hairdresser every six weeks to get rid of the grays! Also sharing her home is Binky the Mutt and G-Pig (Jake) the guinea pig.

  17. Unclassified Info: Paying extra for a brand name

As I peruse the News Press this week, budget cuts seem to be a recurring theme all over town. Of course, I’d have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to notice. I can’t stop thinking about the misguided branding effort our city was so hot to...
